Joint European Project - JEP 3077 (1992-1995)

‘A Programme for Developing the Teaching of Computer Aided Engineering and Robotics at the University Transylvania Brasov, Romania.’

JEP3077 involved four key partners in its execution. These were:

Associated Mobilities

This project also involved a number of major Romanian JEP industrial partners who have contributed both constructively and financially to its development:

JEP Industrial Partners

All partners were visited during the course of the project and advice/seminars given on improving design and production methods. These partners also contributed substantial funds to support all TEMPUS-related activities in Romania.

Project Aims
The main aims of the above programme were: The key deliverable was to provide a facility of high quality equipment and trained academics which would enable the Computer Aided Engineering and Robotics Centre (CAERC) to become a major technology transfer centre for industry in the Transylvania region.

Resources Provided by the Project
As well as a wide range of books, papers, teaching material and software the main purchased equipment associated with the project related to computer hardware and software (see here for details). During their extensive mobilities Romanian academics attended many special courses and observed and participated in teaching activities associated with the use of such equipment in the EU institutions. Substantial amounts of new curriculum and teaching material were subsequently produced much of which could be used both in Romania and the EU (see here for examples of course material developed and associated project publications).

Photographs showing the CAERC equipment being used are shown here.
