The school actively participates in several Scottish Research Partnerships:
- The Scottish Universities Physics Alliance (SUPA).

The school hosts a doctoral training centre specialising in Optics and Photonics, and our staff and research students are involved in a number of other EPSRC programmes including include Condensed Matter DTC:
