Professional Mechanical Engineers play key roles in all industrial sectors including aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, robotics, food, transport and the manufacturing, chemical and entertainment industries - not only as engineers, but as managers, designers, consultants, financial advisors, conservationists and politicians. The majority of Mechanical Engineers take on considerable responsibility within a few years of graduation, and many advance to the highest levels of technical and general management.
Our aim is to produce highly adaptable graduates who can tackle innovative projects in a wide range of industries. Our courses are broad-based and far-reaching, covering fundamental subjects in the early years which can be followed by a degree of specialisation later on. Our MEng / BEng honours degrees are accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and meet the Engineering Council educational requirements for professional recognition as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Up-to-date information on our range of courses, academic requirements, application procedure etc. is shown in the Course Outlines and Undergraduate Prospectus.
