Heriot-Watt ranked number 1 for student satisfaction

2011 National Student Survey results ranks Chemical Engineering at Heriot-Watt in first place in the UK, with an overall score of 91/100. For the third year running 100% of Chemical Engineering students participating in the survey reported 'overall satisfaction' with their degree course.

Knowledge Transfer Award 2008

We are delighted that Dr Robin Westacott, Dr Julian Goodwin and Mr Cameron Fraser, along with Caledonian Alloys, won the 2008 Knowledge Transfer Best Partnership award and the Excellence in Engineering Award (sponsored by the Royal Academy of Engineering). What makes the award particularly pleasing is that Cameron, the KTP associate who took on the work, graduated from Heriot-Watt with a BEng Chemical Engineering with Diploma in Industrial Training degree in 2003. The project, cleaning high value speciality metals, relied on the application of Chemical Engineering principles and process development.
