CALL FOR PAPERS

Aim and Scope

With the increasing number of vehicles and rapid development of wireless technologies, vehicular communication networks and systems (VCNS) and intelligent transportation systems (ITS) are attracting more and more attention. The aim of VCNS and ITS is to improve traffic safety, protect environment by reducing traffic congestion and fuel consumption, and enable a plethora of new applications such as mobile infotainment. To facilitate both safety and non-safety applications, there is a necessity to integrate communications and computing technologies into vehicular and transportation systems. These result in various types of vehicular communications and networks: intra-vehicle, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), vehicle-to-roadside (V2R), and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) or mobile-to-mobile (M2M) communications.

In order for vehicular communication and networking technologies to be widely deployed, many research challenges need to be addressed. This workshop aims at bringing together the researchers and engineers from both the academia and industry to present cutting-edge research achievements covering all aspects of vehicular communication technologies. We are seeking papers that describe high-quality, original, and unpublished contributions.

Submission Guidelines

Prospective authors are invited to submit original papers not exceeding six pages (hard limit), including text, figures, tables, and references. Papers must be written in English and must be in standard IEEE conference format. All submissions will be handled electronically through the edas system http://edas.info, and must be in PDF format.

Accepeted papers will be published in the conference proceedings which will be included in EEE Digital Library (pending approval). Selected papers will be further considered for possible publication in a special issue of the Wiley Journal of Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing (WCMC), International Journal of Autonomous and Adaptive Communications Systems, or International Journal of Ad Hoc and Ubiquitous Computing (IJAHUC).

Note that there will also be a best paper award. Related information is published on the IWCMC 2009 website.
